Actually, I think Cataclysm will bring more new content than any expansion to come before it, as drastically changing the old world will effectively provide a new 1-60 leveling experience.

My concern lies primarily with the end-game, should it be iterated upon in keeping with former expansions. Right now, there is a divide between raiders and non-raiders, effectively through means outside of Blizzard's control (subjective availability, etc). To these folks, they have to survive on heroics and whatever other content, without raiding playing a major part. Fewer heroics means non-raiders will burn out quicker and thereby leave the game quicker. Unless they want to make an alt, like I plan to (why not see the bulk of new content?).

Generally, I'm not worried about Cataclysm. For a player like me that enjoys leveling, it should be a good time. I just thought it'd be fun to do a bit of speculation before the weekend.

To your main point, about heroics becoming boring no matter what, I agree. Though, I think people are overestimating how much lasting power repurposed vanilla 5-mans will actually have.

You played one of the easiest (and least wanted) c...

You played one of the easiest (and least wanted) classes in vanilla raiding, and based on that one experience (did you top the damage chart with your 1 spam btw?) you think raiding was easy? The trials and tribulations of which the DPS classes have expressed has certainly been an eye-opener :)

Personally, I always found the role of a tank to be more stressful, pressured and time-consuming to that of DPS. After reading everyone's great feedback though, I've come to the conclusion that that probably speaks more of my personality and character than anything else.

The key I guess is finding equality for everyone and unfortunately that's going to be hard to come by so long as MMORPGs continue to use the 'Holy Trinity' formula of tank/healer/DPS.
